Logo design is one of the first steps in developing a corporate identity for your business. Logos need to meet a number of stringent qualifications:
look good in black and white as well as full color
be recognizable in small as well as large sizes
be simple enough to get the message across quickly
contain positive symbolism and avoid negative symbolism
Overall, the logo needs to have unity and coherence. The time spent developing a logo is a long-term investment. Logos can be updated as your company grows, but the basic form should remain recognizable and unchanged.
The intricacies of designing for a global marketplace have created an increased need for expert knowledge of symbolism and color in order to design logos that appeal to a multi-cultural audience.
