Joy: The Story Behind the Painting

I absolutely love Christmas. I love everything about it: the songs, the special events, the decorations, the Christmas trees, the days spent with family and even the Christmas parties. A couple of years ago, I was caught up in the Christmas spirit one night and decided to do an abstract painting representing joy. Sure enough, the main colors that came to mind were red, green and gold. As the painting progressed, something else emerged: a poinsettia. I've left this painting in a semi-abstract state, with the flower bursting forth almost ready to sing "Deck the Halls"! I myself like to have reminders of this joyful season around all year long. This exuberant painting is sure to add joy to any room the whole year through.
